Boutin Attorneys Obtain Reversal of $1.3 Million Patent Infringement Judgment and Remand for New Trial

Today, in Washington, D.C., the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a judgment of patent infringement entered against a Nevada corporation and two of its employees.

In a published decision, the appellate court reversed the $1,348,896 judgment and remanded for a new trial on damages and on personal liability of the two employees.  Although they had not served as trial counsel, Boutin attorneys Chris Gibson and Michael Chase represented the successful appellants in the Federal Circuit.  The decision, in Wordtech Systems, Inc. v. Integrated Networks Solutions, Inc. et al., Fed. Cir. Case No. 2009-1454, can be found at the Federal Circuit’s website at http://www.cafc.uscourts.gov/dailylog.html.
